Radiation Oncology

Radiation oncology involves the controlled use of radiation for cancer treatment. It is due to this reason that it is a treatment meant for short terms. It is a non-invasive practice and is carried out by Radiation Oncologists who employ advanced technological systems to give radiation therapy to those who need it. Radiation therapy can be sometimes be used to treat patients in combination with other cancer treatments like chemotherapy.

At Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Cancer Centre, Akola, we use an advanced TrueBeam® linear accelerator that can treat cancer anywhere in the body. TrueBeam® platform is a fully-integrated system for performing high precision radiotherapy procedures like IGRT, SRS, IMRT, SBRT, VMAT/RapidArc®, SCRT, and others. We aim to alleviate the burden of travel and time by bringing this sophisticated technology to Akola, and in turn simplify the lives of cancer patients.
